For complete beginners, and for anyone who knows a few words but freezes when someone answers back.

  • The alphabet, pronunciation, the verb lenni and when to use van
  • Vowel harmony, suffixes, family, numbers, time and dates
  • Food, shopping, directions, transport and buying tickets
  • Present, past and future tense, and the basics of verb prefixes
  • Emergency phrases for the pharmacy, the doctor and work

By the end: You can introduce yourself, shop, ask for directions, talk about your day and ask for help when you need it.

Connect

Hungarian for work, paperwork and longer conversations.

For learners who know the basics and now need Hungarian at work, at the bank or with the landlord.

  • Verb prefixes in stories, reflexive verbs and time expressions (amióta, amíg, miután)
  • Emails, CVs, motivation letters and job interview basics
  • Conditional and imperative, relative clauses, comparing and giving opinions
  • Phone calls, health, the bank and the landlord
  • Idioms, everyday slang, Hungarian holidays and culture

By the end: You can apply for a job, sort things out on the phone, argue your point and follow a conversation about Hungarian culture.
